| The quality of institutions, especially institutionalized democracy, is an important
determinant of inclusive green growth in Africa. Using data from 39 African countries over the
period 2002 to 2022, this study examines the effect of institutionalized democracy on inclusive
green growth. In order to address heteroscedasticity and conditional heterogeneity, we used the
Driscoll-Kraay method and the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) to address
endogeneity. The main result of this study reveals that institutionalized democracy accelerates
inclusive green growth. Therefore, it is essential for African countries to strengthen
democratic institutions. |
