Biographical Sketch:

M. Najeeb Shafiq is an Associate Professor in the University of Pittsburgh's School of Education (primary appointment), Graduate School of Public & International Affairs (joint appointment) and Department of Economics (secondary appointment). Dr. Shafiq conducts research on incentive-based educational reform, child labor, educational gender gaps, educational privatization, and the social benefits of education in the U.S. and developing countries. He earned his M.A. in Economics from the University at Buffalo and his Ph.D. in Economics and Education from Columbia University.
