The APET Workshop on Governance and Political Economy will be held in Mysore, India of the 17th and 18th December 2012 organized by Amrita Dhillon and sponsored by the University of Warwick, MyRA, and the Association for of Public Economic Theory. The conference willbe hosted by the MyRA Business School (http://myra.ac.in/)
This workshop will bring together international academics working on political economy issues of governance. The workshop will examine issues of political governance from various angles and from different disciplinary perspectives. Thus e.g. how can laws be changed in the best way to discourage bribes? Do higher wages lead to less corruption among the police or does status make more of a difference? What is the link between corruption and natural resources? What are the best solutions for fragile states to deliver public policy in a cost effective way? And what are the dynamic incentives facing policymakers? The workshop is sponsored by the Department of Economics at the University of Warwick, and the Association for Public Economic Theory.
