The Association for Public Economic Theory and The School of Economics at the University of Queensland are proud to sponsor a special APET workshop on public-private partnerships. Confirmed keynote speakers include Eduardo Engle (Yale University) and David Martimort (Paris School of Economics).

The workshop will be held on the 25th and 26th of June 2012 at the Tangalooma Island Resort, in Brisbane’s Moreton Bay, Australia. (www.tangalooma.com)

We invite theoretical contributions on the study of public-private partnerships. Topics include, but are not restricted to:

  • Tender design

  • Optimal allocation of risk
  • Contract design
  • Effects of renegotiation
  • Incentives to innovate

A selection of the papers presented will be included in a special issue of the Journal of Public Economic Theory to be edited by David Martimort and Flavio Menezes. Papers for the special issue must pass the normal review process for the Journal.

Attendance is very limited. Workshop participants will have their accommodation paid by the organisers. If you have any questions please contact the organizers at email: louise.west@uq.edu.au.
