Biographical Sketch:

Rupayan Pal is Associate Professor of Economics at Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai, India. He holds PhD in Economics from the IGIDR, MA and BA in Economics from the University of Kalyani, India, and B.Sc in Mathematics from the University of Calcutta, India. His research covers issues like inter-regional competition, privatization, environmental regulation, union-oligopoly bargaining, network effects, market structure and innovation, financial inclusion, political institutions, budget allocation, growth and government efficiency. He has published in refereed journals like Regional Science and Urban Economics, Journal of Public Economic Theory, International Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Economics, Resource and Energy Economics, Manchester School, Journal of Policy Modeling, Bulletin of Economic Research, Review of Network Economics, Labor, Developing Economies, Managerial and Decision Economics and Research in Economics.
