I am my parents only child. Both my parents are dead. I was married in 1987. I have one son. I did my B.Sc in Economics from Presidency college and my M.Sc from University from Kolkata.Then I joined Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata as Junior Research Fellow and compleated my Ph.d under the guidance of Professor Abhirup Sarkar. My topic was theoretical modelling of some aspects of informal sector.
