Biographical Sketch:

Gilles Quentin Kane is a PhD student in the Collaborative PhD Programme (CPP) of the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) at the Faculty of Economics and Management, University of Yaoundé II, Cameroon. He holds an MSc (2010) in Rural Economics and Environment, at the Faculty of Economics and Management, University of Yaoundé II. He has won several awards, including African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) grant for doctoral studies (2012-2017); Scholarship to pursue MPhil studies from the Inter-University Post-Graduate Program in Economics (NPTCI) from 2008 to 2010; British American Tobacco (BAT-CEMAC) grant for excellence (2005-2007) and Ministry of Higher Education grant for excellence (2007). He has been a PhD Intern to the United Nations University UNU-WIDER (Helsinki, Finland). His research interests include: food and nutrition security; food prices volatility; agricultural markets; land tenure security; poverty and welfare; and natural resource management.
