| In the framework of the study of ranking sets of objects from an individual ranking of elements, we analyze a very specific model of preference extensions from a finite set to the family of its non-empty subsets, known as the task-performing model. This model constitutes a often used tool when a firm wants to hire more than one person based on an individual ranking on the set of candidates. We characterize its intrinsic mathematical nature as a special kind of positive natural-valued outer measure. We discuss some aspects of its use in practice. |
