Biographical Sketch:
Yohannes K.G. Mariam holds M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Agri. Economics/Economics, & Anthropology, McGill University, Montreal, Canada. At McGill University, he won several prestigious fellowships.
He was a fellow of the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada, and worked as an economist for Environment Canada (Ottawa) (1994-99). From 1999-2007, he has worked as a senior economist with the Washington Utilities & Transportation Commission (WUTC) in Olympia, Washington (USA). Since 2007, he works for the Office of the People's Counsel for the District of Columbia.
He has taught quantitative methods and economics to graduate and undergraduate students at McGill and Addis Ababa Universities, and University of Phoenix. He has published extensively in the area international development, resource and energy economics, environmental policy and economics. |
