Biographical Sketch:

Vladimir Hlasny is an associate professor of economics at Ewha Womans University in Seoul. His current research is in the areas of public economics, labor economics, and industrial organization. He has studied measurement of income inequality under various statistical issues, sources of discrimination in labor markets, and regulatory reform in utility industries. His work has been published in international peer-reviewed journals including World Bank Economic Review, Journal of Regulatory Economics, Journal of Economic Policy Reform, Journal of Sports Economics and Journal of Economic Entomology. In 2015, he served as an economic affairs officer at United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia in Beirut. He holds a doctorate in economics from Michigan State University.
