The Journal of Public Economic Theory (JPET) is devoted to the publication of theoretical work in all areas of public economics. The Journal is interested in publishing high quality papers that are creative and rigorous regardless. We do not publish papers with significant empirical components but do consider manuscripts that stray into pure theory provided that the a clear connection to problems of interest to public economists is made.  Accepted paper should be correct, original, clearly exposed, give appropriate credit to the previous work, and make significant contributions to the literature.

Manuscripts must be in English and the main text should be single-spaced. Please include figures, and tables within the manuscript in the correct place where this is feasible. This makes the paper more readable than seeing a comment like “Insert figure 1 about here”. For a first submission, any reasonable format meeting these requirements is acceptable.

Do not include a title page with any submission A standard title page will be generated from the metadata (your name, the abstract, the paper title, etc.) that you will be asked to provide through our submission interface. Thus, the first page of the PDF you submit should begin with the title of the first section of your paper as in:

1. Introduction

This is the first sentence of my introduction......
