Call for Papers
Special issue of the Journal of Public Economic Theory
Association for Public Economic Theory and Chulalongkorn University,
Bangkok were proud to sponsor a special APET workshop on the political
economy of development in June of 2011. A special issue the Journal of Public Economic Theory to be edited by Debraj Ray and
Rajiv Sethi and Manachaya Uruyos will be produced from papers presented at the workshop and which are otherwise submitted by October 1, 2011.
invite theoretical contributions on the study of developing countries,
with a possible emphasis on the political economy of underdevelopment.
Topics include but are not restricted to:
(a) unequal growth and its aftermath
(b) the political economy of rural-urban transformation
(c) property rights
(d) rent-seeking and lobbying
(f) public goods provision
(g) accountability and governance
